Using Snapizzi with ShootProof Categories

Organize Your Projects Using Categories in Shootproof — Without Breaking Your Snapizzi Projects

Updated yesterday

Snapizzi supports assigning your projects to ShootProof categories directly during the porting process. For example:

  • Top level → School name

  • Nested levels → School years, grade, or other groupings (e.g., 2023–2024, 2024–2025)

This makes it easy to create a clean, organized structure for parents and schools, while still keeping Snapizzi’s automation intact.

Why Use Categories with Shootproof?

  • Keep each school or organization in its own folder on your ShootProof site.

  • Separate galleries by year (or grade, or other groups).

  • Prevents “breaking” Snapizzi projects by moving ShootProof folders around after upload.

  • Provide a smoother browsing experience for clients.

How it Works

When you select ShootProof as your port destination, the Snapizzi modal will display additional options to control how your project is organized in ShootProof:

  • ShootProof Category
Choose from the drop-down list of categories you’ve already set up in your ShootProof account. The project will be placed under the category you select.

  • Group Albums
Decide how subject albums should be grouped (e.g., by Teacher or Grade). Snapizzi will create the grouping automatically when porting.

  • Cover Photos
Choose how cover photos are assigned for individual subject and group albums:

    • Filename → Uses the first photo in each album for each subject

    • Timestamp → Uses the earliest photo by capture time for each subject.

    • Rating → Uses your highest star-rated image for each subject.

    • None → Skip assignment and set cover photos manually in ShootProof later.

In the screenshot above, the project will:

  • Be nested under the ShootProof category “cat 1”

  • Group subject albums by Teacher

  • Assign cover photos for each subject album using Filename (the first image in each subject or group series)

⚠️ Note
The project cover photo (shown on the left) is separate from the subject and group album cover photos (set by the drop-down on the right).

  • The left-side cover represents the entire project.

  • The right-side options control covers for individual subject and group albums.
