Choosing the Right Project Type: Event vs. Data

Updated over a month ago

Data Projects

Data projects are ideal for scenarios where you have a CSV file of subject or product data ready to import. This setup is commonly used for:

  • School Photography

  • Youth Sports Team & Individual Photography

  • Ballet Schools (supporting multiple groups per subject)

  • High-Volume Commercial Photography (connecting product data to images)

  • Other uses where you need to link subject/product data with images and/or group photos

Data projects generate camera cards containing the uploaded data for each subject. Simply photograph the card (paper or digital) before taking individual photos. Since contact information is already available, you don’t need to give cards to subjects afterward. Additionally, group cards are provided to be photographed before each group session, ensuring the correct group photos are added to each subject’s gallery.

After processing, Snapizzi creates a Subject List with all project data, including subject codes, image files, and gallery URLs. This list enables you to send photo links directly to customers. Alternatively, you can configure the Studio Search Page to let them find their photos.

Data projects also offer Paper Proofing and Bundles for school service items, making it a flexible option for a variety of high-volume photography needs.

Event Projects

Event projects are designed to streamline high-volume photography without requiring customer information upfront. Camera cards are generated for each subject and contain all the necessary information to access their photos. After photographing the subject, simply give them the card. The cards also include a QR code that your customer can scan with a smart phone to be taken directly to their photos.
